Speedboat guide
Make your speedboat trip to Koh Lipe a better experience.

Get a good seat
The comfort of your trip depends a lot on where you sit. In general, we recommend sitting towards the back of the boat for a smoother ride.
- These elevated seats offer a great view, but you'll feel the impact of the waves the most here.
- The middle seats at the back give a better ocean view through the sides of the boat.
- If your boat has a side bench, choose that over the middle seats for a better ocean view.
- The back bench offers a good view and a smoother ride, but it has no backrest.
- This area has little to no ocean view, and you'll feel the waves the strongest here.
Prepare for the trip
- Water
- At both the start and end of your trip there may be some waiting time on the boat, and it can get quite hot, so stay hydrated.
- Snacks
- After a while you'll taste the salty sea air, so bring some snacks to refresh your mouth.
- Earplugs
- The engines can be very loud, so earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones make the trip much more comfortable.
- A bag
- Even if you don't usually get seasick, bring a bag, just in case the person next to you isn't as well prepared.
- Quick-dry clothes
- Instead of rain gear or trying to stay dry, wear comfortable, quick-drying clothes that handle getting wet better.
- Waterproof your bags
- Make sure your bags can handle a few raindrops or splashes from the waves, so you won't have to worry about them.
- Toilet visits
- There is a toilet on the boat, but it's best not to rely on it, so plan your restroom visits for before and after the trip.
We hope this guide makes your speedboat trip better, and we look forward to welcoming you to The Reef!
